It is the remarkable fireplace that strikes one as they enter Hayjack. The Green Man’s face stands agape ahead of the visitor. His vegetative hair winds upwards around the flue guiding the smoke up and out of the chimney. His almond eyes look out into the room. The room is warm in feel like the fire that the Green Man’s open mouth contains. The predominant tone is golden, flecked here and there with reds, pinks, and yellows. Structure is given by oak beams that bolster the grounded feel, set within a copse of young oaks. The interior walls of the cottage are painted grey to allow the hues of the room to breathe, as is the bathroom tiled grey, in order to set off the pink tiles placed here and there. A large glass door opens up to reveal a remarkable view of viridescent parkland.
