Our Work

Shapes by Lolo is a design studio that works within the fields of architecture and landscape. It specialises in projects that blend innovative construction methods, high-grade local materials, custom colour palettes, and unique items of artistry and craft.

At the heart of our projects are remarkable local craftsmen, such as pargetters, stonemasons, bricklayers, and metalworkers, to name but a few. These people have generations-worth of skill and knowledge, which they are, in turn, handing on to their apprentices.

Please do take a look below at a selection of our recently completed projects.

Chapel Barn

A radical transformation of a centuries old barn. It features a pool with gold mosaic and a bronze chandelier of astonishing proportions.

Grange

A renovated farmhouse inside which stands a stunning table, made on-location from Blyth Valley oak. Above, copper-coloured lights glow onto the table’s surface.

Cider House

A newly built, traditional oak-beamed house. Within, a range of colours evoke warm days and bygone eras.

Pavilion

This airy building sits beside a small river. Inside the colours are redolent of bright sunshine beaming down on the fresh-grassed banks of a meandering stream.

Hovel

In this timber-framed room is a curved wall in which a fireplace also fulfils an aesthetic function; as the mouth of a pargetted Green Man.

Tabernacle

Light reflected from the lake, by which this small building stands, beams into the room, brightening the bold colours of its textiles and surfaces.

Halesworth Golf

A modern and inclusive golf club with state-of-the-art culinary facilities and some saucy bathrooms.

2021 Calendar

An unconventional team-building event resulting in some eye-catching imagery.

Bars

Walls clad in scarlet & gold, and brick & wood, surround the convivial atmosphere of these scintillating domains.
